Dr. Yi-Wen Chen, Ph.D., M.S., D.V.M., is a principal investigator in the Genetic Medicine Research center at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Chen’s research focuses on understanding molecular and cellular mechanisms that contribute to skeletal muscle remodeling, regeneration and diseases; and developing treatments for muscle disorders.

Dr. Chen has deep expertise in the molecular and pathophysiological mechanisms of FSHD, with specific expertise in the development of novel FSHD in-vivo models and pharmacological/toxicological assessment of muscle diseases.
