Aallya Nascimento, M.S.

Research Associate

Aallya is a scientist with experience in cell culture and proteomic analysis. While pursuing her Master’s degree at Georgetown University, Aallya worked with mice models to investigate how decreased protein concentration within embryonic tissue due to paternal obesity can lead to changes in the metabolic functions of offspring. Additionally, she explored how obesity and other environmental factors cause changes in the protein uptake of androgen receptors in epididymal cells. Her interest in drug development led her to miRecule, where she will be assisting in the development of therapeutics for Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD).
